Review of Datsun go :

The Datsun GO is one of the most awaited small cars of recent times. The brand, a reincarnation of the original, has returned after nearly 33 years, with a new design language and a new market focus. India is the first market where the first completely locally produced Datsun car will be launched. The GO will be officially launched by the third week of this month. It is all set to take on the likes of the Hyundai Eon, the Maruti Alto, the Ford Figo and the other B-segment cars.

Performance
The Datsun GO features a three-cylinder engine that has been developed using a light-weight architecture and is focused on maximising efficiencies. But the engine manages to surprise us with its nimbleness and relatively refined performance. Compared to some of the other 3-cylinder engines in the market, the GO’s unit is quieter and less ‘vibey’. Yes, listen carefully and during hard acceleration one can easily figure out that this is a three pot engine, but inside the cabin during city driving and cruising, the engine is quiet enough. The GO is said to be capable of doing a 0-100 kmph run in 13.3 kmph. During our test drive, we found that the 104 Nm of torque available to be a big plus in city traffic. The 64 PS of power seemed adequate for a car that weighs barely 800 kg. Power delivery is also quite linear and the car sprints all the way to 70 kmph in second and 130 kmph in third gears respectively. Even at speeds of up to 140 kmph, the GO feels planted. ARAI rated fuel efficiency is 20.63 kmpl.

The new Audi S1 received its public debut at the Geneva motor show this week. The launch of the three-door S1 and the Sportback means Audi has kept its promise to turn the limited-edition A1 quattro into a fully fledged series-production model. The S1 will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, which delivers 228bhp and 37.7kgm of torque. That’s 24bhp less but 2.07kgm more than the older ‘EA113’ turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine used in the A1 quattro which was produced in limited numbers in 2012. The S1 will come with a six-speed manual transmission in the UK, plus a Haldex-style multi-plate-clutch four-wheel drive system. An electronic differential lock has been incorporated within a two-stage electronic stability control system to limit wheelspin and further enhance traction. Audi quotes a 0-100kph time of 5.8sec for the three-door S1 and 5.9sec for the heavier five-door S1 Sportback. Top speed for both is limited to 250kph.  #genevamot...

BMW confirms production of X7 SUV for 2016

We had revealed earlier that luxury carmaker  BMW  has plans to expand their manufacturing plant in Spartanburg, US, to build their new X7 SUV.  BMW  has now officially confirmed the same. This announcement was made by Norbert Reithofer, CEO,  BMW  AG at Spartanburg plant's 20 years celebration event. The X7 will be the biggest SUV manufactured by BMW, and the production of the same will begin in 2016.  BMW hasn’t revealed much about the model, but we expect it to be a seven-seater SUV. The X7 will be based on the extended platform of the X5 and X6 SUVs. Unlike the X5, which is also available with four-cylinder engines and in rear-wheel-drive configuration, the X7 is expected to be offered exclusively with six- and eight-cylinder engines and in all-wheel-drive only. Plug-in hybrid technology will also feature in some variants. BMW plans to boost the annual production at the Spartanburg plant by 50 per cent, thus increasing the number...

NEW TATA ARIA

The Aria gets a 2.2 liter VARICOR turbo diesel engine borrowed from the Safari Storme. This diesel motor now produces 148 Bhp of peak power, a 10 Bhp increase over its previous output of 138 Bhp. The torque output at 320 Nm remains unchanged though. The 5 speed manual gearbox has been retained.  Other major mechanical changes on the facelifted Aria are aimed at improving reliability and longevity. A new timing belt and an improved clutch are the two major changes in this regard. Increased fuel efficiency of an ARAI rated 15.05 Kmpl, a good 10 % improvement over the previous figure of 13.51 Kmpl, is another improved aspect of the facelifted Aria. 10 speaker (6 speakers and 4 tweeters) Harman Kardon music system with an 8 channel DSP amplifier is a major addition to the Aria’s infotainment system. Ex-Showroom Delhi prices of the Aria Facelift are listed below: Aria Pure LX 4X2 : Rs. 9,95,006 Aria Pleasure 4X2 : Rs. 12,00,010
